Hello to all of you reading this blog.
I am sorry I didn't blog for a while. There aren't any excuses so I am just truely sorry. ;)
Sooo.... There wasn't a whole lot interesting stuff that happened. I was invited to another 18th birthday party last Saturday. It was a lot of fun, many different people but we had a ton of good laughs. I could also mark off another thing on my bucket list ;) So all in all it was a quite awesome day.
Sunday consisted of doing nothing. I stayed in my pj's the whole day and did some homework. Since I was sick on Thursday and Friday I had to catch up on some things... No fun but what do ya do? ;)
There is a vicar at our school at the moment. He visited my Philosophy class againg today and afterwards I talked to him for a minute. I'm really interested in getting into a youth group somewhere around here. The vicar is from a church farther away though, which is really sad. I guess I just gotta get myself go and find out if there is anything like a youth group in town. You can see I am pretty good informed ;D.
I really liked having about five or six different groups of friends in the US. You're definitely not involved in so much drama and you don't annoy each other as much as if you hang out with the same people all the time. I would just love having something like that. Especially because I liked learning about God and stuff like that. It became a part of me and since all my youth groups in the Tri-Cities were religious groups I miss that.
I would also like to go to church here, but I am dreading to go, because it is not the kind of church I like. Our protestant church in town is more of the conservative type and the services are probably not as interesting as some of the ones I went to last year. I love those modern churches that have bands playing instead of an organ and they sing modern songs that could be played on the radio. I really liked that kind of service. I know I should not judge before even trying it but I just can't make myself go. Any advice?...
Well I also came across this saying today:
I really like this, because it says that everyone can be truely happy. Not that I am not happy. I really am! Everything got so much better. Not to the extend of last summer but enough.
I just really like this phrase, because there are so many people out there that are not happy. Who think that life is not fair. Who tink that God has either abandoned them or that he doesn't even esixt. Who think everyone forgot about them. Who think they got such a bad set of cards that it is impossible to win this game.
I just want to tell them that their way of thinking is the wrong way to become happy. Yes, life is not always fair but sometimes it is your own fault. No, God did not abandon you; he is always with you not matter what you do or where you are and he is always there for you even if it sometimes doesn't seem right what happens in your life. And again no, people did not forget about you; maybe you pushed them away? Sometimes it is only you who can change something in your life in order to make it get better. You can make the best of what you have. I bet you can name at least one peson who did.
So yeah... That was a little cheer-up for those who are not happy at the moment ;) I think I should take some of to heart myself.
I think that's enough for tonight... Actually it was a lot :D Haha
Thanks for reading and Good Night (or Day ;))
Love, Eileen
PS: Today it snowed a little!!! Yay!!! :)))))

"Live your life to the fullest"...
... Everyone knows this saying but I doubt everyone's living it.
The first time I really thought about the fact that life ends some time and that it might happen just like that, was last year in Bisson's American Lit. class. I can't even remember what the situation was, I just remember how he gave us that sheet of paper, title was "Bucket List" and there was a picture of a bucket and a coffin on it. Our task: write down all the things you want to do before you die. I've never heard of a bucket list but I thought it was a good idea. I probably wrote down about 15 to 20 things; 'til now it went up to aproximately 50ish. :)
Bisson then asked us what we put down. Some said scuba diving, some said going to another counrty and stuff like that. He asked us who put down "having a family" as one of the first five things on your list and I think about half the class raised their hand. I didn't. Finding "true love", having a family, a house, etc. are of course things I want to have but it's nothing you can plan. You can't plan to find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, it might not happen; you can't plan to have a little daughter, you might just get three; you can't plan to have a nice house, you might just lose your job and therefore lose you house. Life is not like a computer game, things just happen and you can't do anything about it. A bucket list is about things that you actually CAN plan, things like scuba diving and visiting Rome.
One of the things on my bucket list is bunjee jumping.
It must be amazing! You feel like you're flying and all the colors blur into one! The rush of adrenaline, the fear of jumping and the excitement! :) Think I might just do it when I'm 18! :D
I already did some of the things I put down on my bucket list. Awesome feeling marking them off! :)
So what's on your bucket list? Think about it! What do you wanna do before you die?
Good night and God bless,
Eileen

something beautiful
I found this photo on line. It's amazing! It's incredible what God is able to create. I wish I had at least a few photography skills. It's awesome what you can make out of an image, a decent camera and some skills. I wish I was able to do that. I hope I can take some lessons some day. That's definitely on my bucket list! And also traveling. I really want to visit other countries, cultures and people! Well... That's what I'm gonna dream of tonight :) haha
Good night.
PS: This song is also amazing :)

sunrise
Last night I went to Erika's birthday party. It was fun. A lot of people I didn't know but still good. She'd made this amazing Tiramisu cake! Sooooo delicious! I think I might make it next weekend. Tons of calories but totally worth it! :)
Nothing interesting happened today. I slept in, watched some TV and went straight back to bed. The one-hour nap was incredible. I was pretty confused after that tho so it took me almost two hours to pretty much finish my English project... After that my dad and I went to get my bike which I'd left at Erika's. Luckily he drove me cause it was raining. It's raining for three weeks straight now and I am seriously getting tired of it. I hope it's just gonna stop soon...
Well I think I'm getting sick... Sore throat and caughing... No fun. But the positiv thing was that I found that I actually do like more than one sort of tea. Might just become a tea junkie some time :D

When we got back I did some German homework and procrastinated on my math homework. After dinner I finally did that as well so I'm off for the night. I guess I should really work on my attitude towards studying. Doing homework Sunday nights just sucks.
Anyways.. So since I don't have anything left to do for today I'll probably just read. I got a new book; "Have a little faith" by Mitch Albom. He also wrote "The five people you meet in heaven". Both books are amazing, at least as far as I can tell for the new one. He's just such a good writer! His books make you think of how you life you life and your behavior towards others. I just love him :)

Except for the being-sick-thing life is going uphill again. Just like a new sunrise :) This song really fits at the moment. You probably all know it ;).

never get an apple iPod...
... because you only got problems with 'em. When you download music legally those songs are locked so you freakin' can't upload 'em on itunes. Or I'm just to stupid to do that. It just freaks me out.
Today I baked a cake. Wasn't a real real cake cause it was mainly "Quark" (which I have no clue how to translate to English. I guess it's kinda like cream cheese just different. But it's from milk ;). So you have that cream (which is tons of butter, tons of sugar, some eggs, vanilla pudding powder and the "Quark"). You spread it on a cookie sheet and put grapes on top 'til it's mainly covered, you bake it and then... there it is! The world's fastest cake! Although I'm not really sure if you can call it a cake since it doesn't have any dough in it :D
As Julie Powell put it in the movie "Julie and Julia": "You know what I love about cooking? I love that after a day when nothing is sure, and when I say nothing I mean nothing, you can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg-yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. It's such a comfort." (don't worry I didn't memorize it, just copied it from the TV :D) She is so right about that! My week sucked and today sucked even more but baking kind of brings me at peace with myself. I don't even have to eat it, just see the results (which are getting better and better) and how it makes people smile (at least sometimes) because it tastes good.
I think I'mma make a tradition out of it. My small family doesn't come together anymore except for Christmas although we all live in one minute walking distance to each other. That is just sad. So why can't we have dinner or Lunch all together at least once a month or so. Dang I'm such a family person. Silly, I know.
Anyways... Here's the cake:
I think I got pretty close! :)
You know what I miss a lot about America? It's that I didn't have to worry about anything. I didn't have to worry about good grades, about not fitting in, because I could always quit, not about guys, cause it wouldn't have worked out anyways, or about having a Homecoming or Prom date. It wasn't real but it was real life at the same time. And now I have to worry about all these things, teenage girls worry about (except the Prom/Homecoming date since we don't have that here). I know life is not like a dream, in which everything's perfect but I've been so happy, so joyful, so energetic, so balanced. And now all that has been flipped over and tossed around until nothing has been left over. I wanna be who I was at the beginning of last summer again. I'm being over dramatic. Hopefully next week will get better. I think it might just be the season. When I read other people's blogs and talk to my friends, they all sound so stressed out, and sad, and overwhelmed, and just not like themselves. I think praying would be the best solution here. You might disagree, that's OK.
So I think I should just pull myself together because Erika is celebrating her 18th birthday today and that's what my plans are for tonight.
Thanks for listening,
Over and out.

this post is dedicated to Jayanah Morad
I really suck at blogging. Haven't blogged in almost a week...
The reason: I didn't feel like it cause this week simply sucked. But know it's Friday so: Look at the bright sight o' things! :)
Anyways...
Monday was just a day at which you just want to stay in bed and only get out to get food and go to the bathroom. BUT I had 9 hours of school and since I started the day in a horrible mood this started the whole week off miserably.
Tuesday I took my English midterm (English is sort of a major). The exam was easy but I just didn't have enough time to do number 3 properly (write a comment) so I have no clue what grade I'mma get. Luckyly I had only 6 classes that day cause social studies got cancelled. YAY! :) Got to eat Lunch at grandma's (de-lish! :P).
Wednesday I took my Bio midterm and I kicked butt! :) Don't know the result yet but since we talked about it in class I'm sure I got most things right! :) Good feeling when you study study study and actually get something out of it! :)
So thinking about all this my week doesn't seem so horrible anymore but it was just waaayy too long.
So you know what I really don't like about people? When they talk about other countries and cutlures negatively but have never lived there or any clue of that culture. This is so intolerant. I mean how are they able to judge? Especially when people from that country never say anything bad about Germany (or the country you're from). I had two of those incidents on Thursday and some more since I got back. Sometimes I just wish last year would've gone on forever.
So enough of complaining. It's Friday and I have an awesome weekend ahead. Birthday party, baking and maybe some studying with a friend. :) Sounds great to me.
Have an awesome friday (night),
Eileen
PS: Favorite quote of the day: "You don't have to be tall to see the moon."

my boring life.
Hello there,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I didn't have the time to do so. I took my Philosophy and Math midterms Thursday and Friday. Philosophy wasn't real good but I finished it all. Math simply sucked. I didn't understand any of the questions and didn't know what I was supposed to do. So I started all problems but didn't finish any of them. So guess that's gonna be the first exam I failed. -.- Anyways... We'll see what's gonna happen tomorrow..
This weekend was pretty good.
Went to the store and got some baking untensils :)
Baked some cookies that night for the party that I went to on Saturday.
Saturday morning I met up with Maike to study but we talked and laughed more :D It was definitely awesome! :)
So Saturday night I went to the party. A lot more people were supposed to come but because we had to change the locations we ended up being just six. Played some games and then watched "The Ugly Truth". Fun night. I'm invited to parties on every Saturday this month. Good feeling :) Didn't get the chance to hang out with so many friends for a while!
Saturday I also skyped with Anna. It was so good talking to her and catching up on things. :) Love ya girl ;)
Today I slept til 11:30 or so :D Goooooood stuff :)
Then watched some movie on TV.
Finally got dressed and stuff and started cleaning up my room. It's still a mess but acceptable ;)
Then had a good study session with Sabine at a café in town. 4 hours straight! We understood everything so we should kick butt on the midterm this coming Wednesday ;)
Well... That should be it for tonight. Thanks for reading this really boring blog :D

three day weekend
This weekend was soooo amazingly relaxing!
It started out with getting my weight lifting plan at the court club. Means I'mma go more regularly after midterms are done with. :) I can't even remember what I did on Friday night... Probably not a lot :D
Saturday I didn't get to sleep in but instead I skyped with Briana and Karyn! It was so awesome! I miss them so much. It was good hearing their vioces and seeing them although their video stopped after a few minutes :D But it was great nontheless. :)
After that I went to the cemetry with my mom to clean up the grave of my greatgrandparents for All Saints day. It's a holiday in Germany and we get the day off too. So that's why it's a three-day-weekend. We did a pretty good job but I was so sore that it was extremely exhausting. After some grocery shopping and some good laughs we got home and I took a nap for like an hour or so. Felt extremely good!! :) I LOVE naps!! :D

Around 4ish I went to my grandma's to bake the first recipe of my new baking book! It was a "Sachertorte". An Austrian chocolate cake. It was yummy although I'm sure it didn't turn out as it was supposed to. But it was delish and that's good enough for me ;) It took me forever to finish tho... I made a lot o' breaks and stuff so I was pretty much done by 11 ish... Means about 4-5 hours of baking :D
Sunday daylight's savings time (or what it's called) ended (it ends in the winter doesn't it?? I never get it right :D). So I woke up around 7, had some breakfast which included a piece of cake (I LOVE cake for breakfast) and then I went back to bed til 10 ish. :))) I think I read some and watched some TV til we had an amazing Lunch (Rouladen (google it if you don't know what it is), mashed potatoes and red cabbage. After that I napped some more and around 4ish I went home to get ready to meet some friends at a café in town. It was fun! I love hanging out with these four girls. Gotta do that more often! :) <3
Vanessa gave us a ride to Johanna's home where me and Johanna hung out for a little while and dressed up for the Halloween party we went to later that night. I was a pirate and Johanna a hash farmer :D It was fun! :D My costume consisted of an old flanel shirt I got from my dad, a bandana with a skull on it, belt with a skull on it and some paint..... Freakin' easy ... I started thinking about what I was gonna wear an hour before I went to the café :D I don't have a picture of that yet cause I forgot my camera... Yeah.. bad me :D But I'll post it some other time. Promise ;)
So yeah.. back to the topic... It was fun. :D My dad picked me up and I went straight to bed... I was sooo tired! It was good seeing some friends I haven't seen in a while! :)
Oh and I also called my host parents that night. It was Debbie's birthday so I talked to them for a while which was awesome, cause I didn't talk to them since summer break. That was a highlight as well ;)
I kind of slept in this morning, had breakfast with my parents and went back to bed again :D I read some it Paul Auster's "Moon Palace" which we have to read for English class. Then started doing some homework. I didn't study at all this weekend which makes me feel horrible cause I gotta take 2 midterms this week... Philosophy and Math. I don't understand anything in either class.... So these next 3 days are going to be filled with studying... -.- So wish me luck that I'm not gonna fail... But then I only have to take the English and Bio midterms next week and then I'm done with it for the quarter. YAY!! :D
Well today is All Saints day so me, my grandparents, parents and my sister went to the cemetry to light candles and put them on the graves. That's the tradition here. Afterward we went to the Greek restaurant in town and had a feast :D It was delish like always ;)

Well... Think I'mma say good night for today :)
See some of you tomorrow ;)
Love ya lots,
Nighty night, Eileen
