Hello there,
Today has been very nicely relaxing and is hopefully going to continue like that.
-woke up somewhat early but finished my book that I've been procrastinating on for a while
-went back to sleep and had to pull me out of bed at 11 am
I went to my grandma's to bake an apple pie for my birthday tomorrow. The crust kind of ripped apart while transferring it to the plate. I guess I didn't use enough of the water-egg-mixture. But oh well. Messed up foods are always the best. But compared to the kitchen when the cake was finally finished, the cake looks perfect! :D haha
After I cleaned up the kitchen (by the way, it looked better afterwards, then when I started ;)), I had some lunch. One toast only with butter and one with butter and cherry jam. Quite delicious!
Yes, I did take a lot of silly pictures today. But it was fun :)
Honestly, I can't believe, that I will be turning 18 tomorrow. That just comes so fast. I waited so long for this day, and now, suddenly, it is there! Gosh, I can't wait for tomorrow! I'll be able to take my new backpack to school with me, since it's a birthday present. Also I get to spend the day with my amazing family! AND four VIP guests! Two of them were and are still being made today, one is already in the freezer and one is probably going to be made tomorrow. Guess what they are?! YES! CAKES!! :) The apple pie I made, a strawberry cake my grandma is making right now, a children's cake that I used to get every year up until my 12th or 13th birthday, and another strawberry cake my mom is going to make. Gosh, I seriously can't wait! :D haha I am so addicted! I love birthdays.
I am excited to see what the next year is going to bring. :)
I hope you all had a great weekend!
Love,
Eileen

... my exchange year adventure ended. On June 23, 2010, I sat in an airplane with my family that would bring me back to Germany. I still remember when we arrived at Frankfurt airport. We had to take shuttle busses to take us from the plane to the terminal. During the ride I saw German police cars, German licence plates, German ads, I heard so many people talk German, everything WAS so German. I said to my dad who was sitting next to me, "Dad, I just want to go back!" That's how I still feel today. Luckily I don't feel the urgency of this feeling anymore but it's still there. Last night I read through my journal. I started it the day after I got back. I was so homesick! But for the US. Back then I was a different person. I think that I was happier there. I don't even know why. I'm happy here, too. My family and friends are amazing. Life's good here. But only good. I somehow was a different person in Kennewick. Maybe because of the school, maybe the language, maybe the people. Maybe the fact that I was so busy. I always had something to do. Maybe because the American way of life suits me better? I hope so. I have some plans in mind and most of them include America. I can picture my future there clearer and more detailed than a future in Germany. I don't know what it is about Germany that I don't like. I really have no clue at all. But for a while now, I've just felt so sick of life here. I can't wait for next Summer to be here. I think I really need to get out of here. Out of Germany. As I said before: Life in Germany is good. But I think it is not my life or way of living.
Here's to another year in Germany. Hopefully it'll go by fast, because I can't wait for (hopefully) another year in the US. :)
Love,
Eileen

a little bit(e) of America
Oh hello there,
YES! I am FINALLY done with finals! Ugh, so releaving! I'm so excited for Summer to come. Two more weeks of school and then two weeks of interning at a pastry shop. I can't wait to get some baking tipps and learn some things. And then Summer! :)
Well, to celebrate this freedom today I made myself and my mom grilled cheese sandwiches American style. I have to admit: quite delicious.
I really love American food! :)
So today I left a comment on Kaile's blog. The word-thing came up and the word I had to type was "doves". That just made my day. A dove stands for love. Pure love. A sign from God. It'll all work out for the good. He loves me. This is amazing. But not only this but I am also sure that someday I will meet my special someone.
A couple nights ago, I read Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" That really was what I needed to hear. I sometimes question the things that happen in my life, especially when they're not the most positive and happy things. But it is always great to remember that God has everything in his hands. He figured out a plan for me and it is a good one. :) Good feeling to know that He always works everything out for the good.
To get back to the doves, I found some pretty cool tattoos online. I like the second one better. Guess where I saw it? Right, on Jessi's 365-blog.
Well, it's 9:30 pm and I am so tired! I don't even know why. I think I'm going to bed. Cozy bed and reading sounds pretty good right now. :)
Good night.
Love, Eileen

that gives me hope
I think my cousin is from a different time period. I like to hope that it's the future, because she sees the beauty in everyone. She doesn't care about skin, sexuality, or religion. To her, everyone is a person and everyone deserves a chance. She's 14. She GMH.
I came across this website today. It's so inspirational. You don't always know if every story is true but just the thought of it being true makes life so much better. I realized that there are some things that I want to do some day, not just bucket list things. Small things. Things like taking a homeless person out for lunch, paying for the person behind me in a drive-thru, saying "thank you" to a soldier. Just doing randomly kind things for strangers. I'm striving to be more like this 14-year-old girl. People like her give me hope. :)

1 Cor 13: 4-13
Hello there,
it's Friday. Finally. This week was just pure busyness and exhaustion. I took two finals, German on Wednesday and Social Studies today. Well, I studied. A lot. I hope it all worked out. I'm not so sure about German. I'm not really happy with that one, but we'll see. Social Studies today was pretty good. We had four hours and I definitely needed them. I didn't even have the time to read through everything anymore. Twelve pages. I'm wondering why my hand doesn't hurt! :D haha But I feel a lot better about this one than German. I got two more finals to go, English and Latin. Next week. And then I'm done for the school year. Luckily. I'm so ready for Summer! I already got the results of my Math final: B-. Better than I'd expected, so I'm happy about that. :)
Enough of school. At the moment Coca Cola has the cutest commercial ever (I hope the non-Germans of you will still get the point ;) ). It's that kind of positivity I needed. To check if the love and hate thing with google is really true, I tried it. The cutest picture I came across was this one:
Well, love has kind of failed me lately. Or maybe it wasn't love but the relationship itself. I don't know. I got hope though. My friend always says: for every pot there's a lid. I think she's right. When I get married some day, which I hope I will, I want this verse to be read out. Millions of couples already had it read at their wedding and millions more will but I think it's just the ultimate proof of your love for each other. If most of the aspects in this verse are what your love is like, it is a good and true love. Looking back on it now, most of the things did not fit so no wonder that it didn't work. But it's ok. Just another page in life. The true love is going to get a few chapters. :)
I know I keep reposting things of my friends and that is really lame but my dear friend Jessi posted a poem in her blog today. I'm not really into poems but I fell in love with this one. It goes like this:
Stars:
Aren't the stars beautiful tonight?
I could tell you agreed by the look in your eyes,
from the moon's glare that created a glimmer of light.
Everything you ever told me was the complete opposite from a handful of lies.
You were the one who pulled me out from the dark.
You showed me the world,
and told me I could make a lasting mark.
It was like I was cut from the cord,
and falling, just falling into my place.
I finally knew who I was and where I wanted to go.
We ran together in love, but it was no race.
Everything fell into place and our worlds began to glow.
Ever since the day we met, I knew you were the one.
You're in everything that I've become.
I think this one will have to be read out at my wedding as well. :D Haha.
Well I think I'm going to go for a jog. I went last Sunday, too. I have never been so sore in my whole entire life! I even had to walk the stairs down backwards. Ugh, I hope it's not going to be that horrible tomorrow... Wish me luck,
Love, and peace, and hugs,
Yours, Eileen
PS: I'd really like to have this ring.

mid June already
Hello there,
it's been a while... Again...
I can't believe it's June 13th already! Time goes by so fast. Sometimes it goes by too fast but at the moment it can't go by fast enough for me! I really need summer and I need to see my friends in the US again which is hopefully going to happen next summer. Life is good at the moment, but I seriously can't wait for another chapter. This one just keeps dragging on. I guess I need to read faster. Haha :D
The last week was packed with math and math and even more math. I took my final on Friday and so I can relax (in that class) for the rest of the school year. I'm not sure how many more exams I will have to take next year but I'm hoping that it'll only be two. I will never like math.
I had a long and relaxed weekend. Didn't do a lot. Saturday I cooked Lunch at my grandma's. With spinach and cream cheese stuffed cannelloni topped with tomato sauce. It was quite delicious! :) Also I worked on a project for my social studies class. I hope it turned out good.
Sunday I went for a jog. It was really good to work out and I even got pretty far. At least far for me. I am so sore today though. Not really surprising since that was the first attempt of working out in months. I even have to walk down the stairs backwards. -.- I feel so old. I hope it'll be better tomorrow since it's a school day! :D Also I watched Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix last night on tv. I think I need to read the books again. It's too long ago!
Today I was off school luckily. I got a lot of homework done and another project for English. That took forever. I had to summarize the poem "A White Man's Burden". I didn't even understand everything in German. It took me three hours to get it done. I took a nap for about an hour which was well needed. School can be so exhausting. I'm glad when I'm done with it for the year! Summer can't come sooner!
So my laptop hasn't been working for a while now. A friend of my dad's is going to ckeck on it this week and I really hope that he is able to fix it! Gosh, I don't know what I am going to do when all my pictures and emails and things from America are lost! That would be so horrible! Ugh I don't like computers. They keep failing me! It's already the second laptop in two years that stopped working for me.
I came across this picture on Jessi's 365 blog today.
That just made my day. I like having good thoughts. :)
Good night,
Eileen

quick update
Hello there,
Where have I been? Well, mainly at home or at school. Nothing really interesting happened since my last post.
- I read a lot! Like a lot lot! My mom went crazy. I'm sorry mom! I think I just needed it.
- I skyped with Jayanah! That was awesome! :) It felt like we never left the US. Good feeling!
- The long weekend was awesome and nicely relaxing. I wish I'd have been outside more but it was just too hot. I really don't like the heat.
- Had ice cream with my best friend.
- Sadly didn't skype with Bri. :( Made me sad.
- Math final on Friday. I need to get studying but my head is just empty. I attempted to do some English homework but I simply cannot think. I'm just so worn out from not doing anything at all. I wish I knew what's wrong with me. I'm so tired all the time and I can't really concentrate on one thing. Right now it's keeping me forever to write this post because I type every word wrong like three times. Ugh everything's just so annoying. Everything.
Can't wait for graduation to be here. Please, time, hurry up!
Good night,
Eileen
