Success.

Hello there,
The other day I went shopping with my mom. I needed (and actually still need) some kind of swim suit for the Rome trip I'll be going on in September, preferably a new bikini bottom that fits to my bikini top. So we went to a sports wear store that had a lot of things on sale. I didn't find anything like a swim suit but instead I found a skirt and I saved an incredible fifteen Euros! This is written on the price tag. It made me smile and think of Elizabeth who has a fashion blog that I'm following.

This is supposed to be written on every price tag. The purpose of fashion, in my opinion, is not to impress others, to fit into society, to display status or money. Fashion and clothing are supposed to be for you and for you only. No one else needs to care about what you wear. Fashion was made to make you feel good. Especially to make you feel good about yourself; no matter how you look, your attitude, your character or what size you wear. I bought this skirt for me because I like skirts better than shorts and I really liked this skirt. People might not like it or think it doesn't look good on me but why would they care? And more importantly, why would I care about what they think of my clothes? I don't. I wear what I like. I have my own kind of fashion and if I don't go with the trend, that's fine. I think a lot of people still need to realize this.

That was Monday. If you think that was a great deal, it gets even better! Tuesday I went to Gütersloh with my sister to continue my swim suit search and I'd heard that C&A, a big clothing store, had sunglasses on sale. Since I needed some of those, as well, my sister and I hit the city. I still didn't get a new bikini bottom, but instead two new sunglasses for four Euros each instead of ten, a new DVD from Darleen for my birthday (Blind Side), together we bought "I am Number Four" on DVD, and Darleen also got herself the first "Transformers" movie (which I like a lot, too). Back at home, I went to a shoe store in town that also sells purses and I got a new purse there for thirty Euros instead of fourty! So another ten Euros saved! THAT'S what I call lucky! :D This week was a very successful week, indeed.

I was kind of in a shopping mood, so I ordered two new books for myself online; "I am Number Four" and "Beastly". I'm totally into love stories at the moment. I'm really happy right now, especially with myself. I haven't been at peace with my life like this in a while. I just sometimes wish that there was someone who'd care for me, love me; someone to hang out with, to have fun with, to cuddle with. But I'm not really in the mood for, much less up for, a relationship at the moment. Especially not with any of the guys I know here. I am still sick of Germany, my German life, German guys and their way of dating/relationships. I like the idea of the American way a lot better. It's hard to explain to people who don't know the difference. At the moment I am really excited about living my life for me, loving and enjoying myself, doing things for myself. I really do enjoy my single life. But someone to hold me sometimes and be there for me would be nice. I guess the girls reading this understand what I mean. ;)

Jayanah wrote this in her blog today. Had to copy it because it fits this post so perfectly. :)
